This is my first koala pencil portrait. The koala is called Oxley Twinkles and she has been taken care of by the Koala Hospital in Port macquarie, Australia. I donate 25% of the proceeds of this drawing to this koala hospital. I started making koala portraits after I heard that koalas were threatened with extinction. I wanted to do something to help these cute animals. Koalas are losing their habitat in Australia. Neighbourhoods are build right where their trees used to be. Koalas get hit by cars or attacked by dogs or get hurt in other ways. The Koala Hospital helps wounded koalas and makes sure that they can return to their natural habitat again. Magnificent work. Yes unfortunately loss of habitat is impacting too many of Australia's indigenous wildlife. We have a shameful rate of extinction in this country.
